INTRO

Just like hamsters and guinea pigs....there is an issue with the cages you may think are okay for them. Bunnies need lots of space to hop, binky, and roam. Rabbits should have cages that are at least 6 feet by 2 feet long pet rabbit(that's a lot of space!). Make sure you take your bunny out everyday, and if you can't one day take them out the next day for sure!

CHOOSING A CAGE

When you're choosing a cage, make sure you get one that's right. Obviously it should be big. Make sure it is around 3 feet tall if it has a lid, rabbits must be able to stand on their hind legs any where in their cage. If your cage does not have a top/lid the walls should be at least 48 inches tall(3 feet or one meter) it should be taller if you want to put in toys and hideouts your furry friends can stand on. The cage being tall is important so that there are no escapes. Rabbits are better at getting out of their cage then you would think. They can push, bite, and jump to get out. Also find one that suites you, it should be able to fit in the space you need it to.

X-PENS

An x-pen is a dog playpen that is used as a rabbit cage. They work very well and can look quite nice. If you order one make sure to read the measurements and make sure is is big enough and tall enough. The nice thing about them is that you can easily attatch a smaller cage to one if you are looking to get an upgrade but want to keep your old cage. They can be bought in pet stores, on amazon, ebay, and other stores. They are often $50-$200, mostly just depending on size and where you buy it from. You can also buy more than one and connect them if you have space.

C&C CAGES

C&C cages are DIY and were originally for guinea pigs. They are made out of storage cubes, you can use the plastic connectors they come with or zip ties to hook the grids together. You can use wood covered in water proof tiles or flooring such as linolium as a base. You can also use cloroplast which is made for sign making as a base. You can buy cloroplast at a local sign shop, online, or at guinea pig cages store.com(link in picture). You can add diffetent levels and such if you would like to. You can also make a playpen out of the grids. The grids themselves can be bought at target, walmart, bed, bath, and beyond, and more. There is a link to walmart's grids they have for sale in the picture.

OUTDOOR DOG CAGES

The cages used to keep dogs contained outside can make great indoor rabbit cages. If you have the space and don't mind it, then it's perfect. They can be a bit pricey, with an average price range of $100-$500, so they aren't for everyone. There are a couple cons to this cage, like height(it may be too tall), look, space, price, etc. but your bunnies will love it and won't be able to escape! These can be bought online or in some pet stores.

INDOOR HUTCHES

Indoor hutches can be good cages for rabbits. You must make sure the cage is large enough because some hutches are too small for rabbits. Some hutches have areas designed to keep rabbits warm, so during the summer or any warm time make sure that area of the cage does not over heat. With any cage a rabbit must come out and have play time, it can be harder to remember to give your rabbit attention in a cage like habitat, so make sure you bunnies get play time.

DOG KENNELS

Dog kennels can be okay rabbit cages, but they are a similar size to pet store cages a lot of the time, so.......
